COURTHOUSE



Recent remodeling and changes in parking have allowed the beauty of the Courthouse to be exposed to all.

PEPSIN

The Pepsin building was built in 1924 and closed in 1984. The building and water tower were demolished in 2005.

STATE STREET










The most famous street in Monticello is State Street. Formally called "Millionaire's Row ." The street still has many beautiful well kept mansions.

THE SQUARE



The Monticello square has been beautified by many projects over the past few years. The east side is pictured on the right and the west side pictured on the left.

STREETS

Flags are from Piatt Street, Fall scene looking east from cemetery, shaded street is Myers.

PIATT STREET

BELOW-113 S.Piatt (a.k.a. Parker house) was built in 1907, 125 S. Piatt (a.k.a. McIntosh house) was built in 1903, both by Seymour Marquiss. UPPER RIGHT 173 S. Piatt (Sawlaw home) was also built at the turn of the century.

PARADES

Monticello has many parades, pictures with horses are from Rodeo Parades and others are from Christmas Parades.


RAIL MUSEUM



The train ride is 7 miles round trip and you may board at the museum site or the historic downtown Wabash Depot. The depot was built in 1899 and houses the Chamber of Commerce and visitors center.

ROTARY PARK



Rotary park, located just off the Southeast corner of the square was recently remodled and enhances the beauty of downtown Monticello.

GOLF COURSE

The Monticello Golf Club was built in the 1920's, grass greens were added in 1973, and watered fairways added in 1988. Pictures are of lake and 6th tee area.

WIN OVER ST T

Monticello scored and upset 14-7 win over St. Teresa with an 86-yard TD run by at Pat Striegel (no. 21) in the 2002 playoffs.
